British
Airways -Formed by
the merger of BOAC and BEA in 1972, the airline's history can
be traced back to the formation of Imperial Airways in 1924.
It took over British Caledonian in 1988. Today BA is the Uk's
UK's largest international scheduled airline, flying to over
550 destinations.
Online booking: book and check-in online; print boarding
passes, amend your details; realtime flight information.
Environmental policy: British Airways were the first airline
to produce an environmental report, and do so each year. It is
a member of Sustainable Aviation, and shares the organisation
target of halving Carbon Emissions per passenger Km by 2020.
Unfortunately this does not mean halving total emissions, as
the passenger kilometers flown continues to rise.
The airline is an active supporter
of Carbon Trading, and offers a voluntary passenger carbon offset
scheme.
