Flybe: formed from the restructuring of
British European Airways in 2002, Flybe is Europe's largest regional
low cost airline. 69% of the company is owned by Rosedale
Aviation Holdings Ltd, 15% is owned by British Airways and 16%
of shares are owned by staff through an Employee Share Scheme.
Online booking: simple online booking through the website.
One benefit is the ability to change your booking at no extra
cost with their Economy Plus tickets.
Environmental policy: claim to be at the forefront
of efforts by the airlines to reduce the environmental impact
of air travel, largely through the aquisition of newer aircraft.
They go as far as to produce eco labels for their own aircraft, which
unsurprisingly mark the newer ones category A -would be better
if there were an industry wide agreed standard for this, but
it is good to see some firm information available from an airline.
