Singapore
Airlines -with over
60 years of service, Singapore Air is today one of the leading
airlines, serving over 100 destinations in more than 40 countries.
They became particularly known for the "Singapore Girls"
dressed in the sarong kebaya uniform designed by French
couturier Pierre Balmain in 1968. They have achieved a reputation
for high quality service in modern aircraft and are the first
airline to fly the Airbus A380 double decker airliner. They have
strong coverage of routes in South East Asia and connections
between Europe and Australia/New Zealand.
Online booking: online booking, check-in and flight status.
Environmental policy: Corporate Responsibility policy
is published on their website, along with a fairly thorough 2006-07
report covering a wide range of environmental issues from noise
to CO2. A number of targets are set, although they seem
to stop short of setting firm CO2 emissions targets in the future.
